Copy Editing

Page history last edited by Nina Simon 14 years, 1 month ago

This is the homebase for copy editing of The Participatory Museum. Copy editing will take place Jan 18-29. We are now in phase two of copy-editing.

To participate:

  • Register an account on this website (see upper right to register/login).
  • Go to this page to sign up for sections to copy-edit. To copy-edit, you will need to have Microsoft Word installed on your computer and be able to use the Track Changes function.
  • Use this style guide to inform your copy-editing.

Please copy-edit for:

  • grammar
  • punctuation
  • spelling
  • sentence readability
  • sentence spacing (i.e. one space after each period, no space between period and footnote reference)

If you have alternative recommendations for section headings, feel free to note them. Please do NOT worry about formatting of headings or lists, as that will all change when I go into final design.

If you have any questions, please email me at nina (at) museumtwo (dot) com or put a comment on this page.

Recommendation: no periods after bullets
Recommendation: highlight key phrases consistently. You could use 2 forms of highlight, if you have 2 streams/types of messages and want to distinguish them.
Recommendation: All in-text references and notes as it is more reader-friendly

what do you mean by "in-text?" Do you want whole URLs directly in line? Or can they be footnotes?

Are we double-spacing after periods, or single?

Single after periods - see the style guide.
